The back of this chair is woven, not wrapped: thick strands of taupe outdoor rope pass over and under each other in a chunky basketweave, held within a square-shouldered back frame. The seat is wrapped in the same cord in tight parallel rows. The contrast between the two textures is what makes the chair look handmade.
A dark bronze powder coat on the round aluminum tube frame keeps the look grounded against timber decks and terracotta planters, and it hides dust better than white or sand. The arms run as one tube from the back down into the front legs, keeping the profile slim at the table.
Contract details
- Rope: solution-dyed synthetic cord, colorfast in UV; hose and soft-brush clean.
- Frame: welded aluminum tube, pretreated before powder coating; coastal-grade coating on request.
- Seat height: 17.7 in (45 cm) for standard dining tables.
- Feet: replaceable glides with a drainage path.
Because the woven back is denser than a wrap, it gives a little more support at the lower back and needs no cushion. Rope and frame colors can be changed per project; send your palette and we will post cord samples.
