Many roadway dining programs require a weighted barrier along the traffic side, and many operators then lose another strip of width to a separate bench. The Ballast-Wall merges the two. The booth's street-side shell rises to 41 in (105 cm), a solid, flat matte black aluminum face, and the seat box contains a ballast chamber filled with water on site. An antique-bronze-finish 100 mm (4 in) fill cap and a drain plug make filling and emptying straightforward, so the unit ships and moves empty.
Barrier rules vary by city: required height, weight per linear foot, reflectors and gaps are set by each program. Send us your program's specification and we will size the chamber, shell height and end details to match, and show the filled weight per foot on the shop drawing for your permit set.
Handling and maintenance. Empty, the booth can be positioned by two to four staff or a pallet jack; it only becomes heavy once filled on site. Drain the chamber before moving the unit or before freezing weather, since ice can stress any sealed chamber. In colder climates, ask your program whether an antifreeze additive is permitted in ballast water or whether the booth should be drained for winter.
