Upholstered backs have two weaknesses outdoors: they catch wind and they hold water. The Breezeway replaces the padded back with a matte black aluminum frame wrapped horizontally in 8 mm outdoor rope at roughly 6 mm spacing. Wind passes through, rain drops straight off, and nothing stays damp long enough to mildew. You can see through the back, which keeps sightlines open on a rooftop.
The rope is wrapped under even tension and each run can be replaced individually, so a cut or stained length is a small repair rather than a new back. The seat cushion is quick-dry foam in a solution-dyed acrylic cover with an 8 mm contrast welt, and teak-capped armrests finish both ends. The base stands 2 in (50 mm) off the deck so water and leaves pass underneath.
At 94 in (240 cm) the standard run seats four comfortably; we cut shorter or longer sections and corner units to suit your layout. Rope color is chosen from our outdoor cord cards.
